We're engineers who think like product people.
This page isn't about our origin story or team photos. It's about why we work the way we do - and why that matters for your product.
Our Engineering Philosophy
We optimize for the three-year codebase, not the three-week sprint. Every decision considers the engineer who will maintain this code after us.
Code Quality Standards
- Every PR gets reviewed by at least one other engineer
- We enforce consistent patterns with linters and formatters
- Complex logic gets documented with 'why', not just 'what'
- We refactor continuously - small improvements compound
Testing Philosophy
- Critical paths get end-to-end tests, not just unit tests
- We test behavior, not implementation details
- CI runs the full test suite on every commit
- We measure coverage but don't worship it - 80% meaningful coverage beats 100% shallow coverage
Documentation Practices
- Architecture decisions are documented in ADRs (Architecture Decision Records)
- API contracts are specified before implementation
- Runbooks exist for every production system
- Onboarding docs help new engineers ship on day one
Tech Debt Management
- We maintain a tech debt register with estimated payoff cost
- 20% of every sprint is allocated to debt reduction
- We flag debt before it becomes a crisis, not after
- Every shortcut gets a TODO with context and a ticket
Communication Standards
Great engineering means nothing if you can't communicate it. Here's how we make sure you always know what's happening.
Weekly Async Updates
Every Friday, you receive a written summary: what shipped, what's in progress, what's blocked, and what's coming next week.
Bi-Weekly Live Demos
Working software, not slide decks. We demo real features in staging so you can see progress and course-correct early.
Dedicated Slack Channel
Direct access to the engineering team. Questions answered within the hour during business hours. No ticket queues.
Honest Timelines
We'd rather give you a realistic deadline and beat it than promise an aggressive one and miss it. No games.
